I'm running a line from my Fender Rumble 350 into a Tascam DP008. Is there any difference in quality/sound between using the 1/4 line out which usually goes to my 410 cabinet or the XLR?

XLR or 1/4 from Amp to Record?

Do not use the speaker output jack. You will fry the recorder and your amp. This output is for speakers only.
The XLR out is the recording/mixer output.

Your recording device can take a "Line" or "Instrument" input signal with either a XLR or 1/4" instrument cable. The recorder has a built in preamp so their is usually no difference in sound quality. In your case use the XLR line out on your amp head to the recorder using a XLR mic cable. That's the best way to get the best signal.
You can also plug your bass straight in with a 1/4 instrument cable. I would avoid using dedicated speaker cables as they are constructed different to carry a different type of signal. And long speaker cables tend to pick up noise and hiss.

Thanks gentlemen..sounds like just how I've been doing it. I'm ordering some new cables of better quality than what I currently have so I'll throw a nice XLR in there as well.
