Yep...we are getting a lot of Monsoonal rain here which is very unusual for SoCal. Just another sign that we have an El Nino weather pattern setting up which means a lot of rain this coming winter.

In fact, the weather has been screwy for the last month or so. Chilly...like in the 60s!
It's that global warming again.
There's a running joke in my area.
"It's not so much the fill in the blank. It's the humidity."
Bug the blank part could be unrelated to weather at all.
Fred: I am so full right now.
Bob: Yeah but it wasn't all that food we ate as much as the dang humidity."
Thelma: It took forever to get out of the grocery store today!

You get the point. It's humid here. Some of you may not even know what a "heat index" is. It's hell's version of the wind chill. So 94 degrees will "feel like" 102 ecause of the heat infex (humidity). A dry 85 degrees is like a cold front around here.

The cost of living in these parts is outrageous but knowing that days like this are rare makes it completely worth. I couldn't imagine a whole summer of this. That'd be inhumane!
Send the rain up I-5 after you're done with it, please. I've lived in the NW corner my entire life and I am getting quite cross due to being overheated for so long. Right now it is 11pm and 77F on my porch. So much for the 'but it always cools down at night' line of thought; 77F should have been our HIGH temp today, and that 89F we had is some sort of hallucination. I wouldn't mind this so much but it is 80F in my house. The usual thought about air conditioning around here is 'ah, who cares; we'll only need it for three or four nights per summer.' Ha.
