A few weeks ago it must have dropped a couple inches a day for 5 days running. My front yard was like waking on a sponge for days after it finally blew past.
I remember back in the mid 90's (I think) I was out west a lot and ya'll had so much rain it drowned the cauliflower crop?

We've had a pretty wet year so far here in So. TX. Been drier than a popcorn fart for the last 2-3 years.
Got an inch yesterday. Another 1/2", at least, this morning. We got 3" in about an hour and a half about 2 weeks ago. Got hail, high winds and another 1" of rain 3 Saturdays ago.
Everybody's lawn is green. The bluebonnets were going like gangbusters back in March. Hopefully we'll continue with this wetter-than-normal trend through the summer.

If I wore a sweat shirt when it was in the 60's I definitely would be sweating. You probably wouldn't like it over here in January.
^I am sure I would get use to it if lived in that climate for a while. But with that said, you are right, I probably still would not like it.

Lincoln had the wettest May ever this year and the 5th wettest month ever.
Kinda different not being in a drought this late in the year.
At least the golf courses are in the best shape for the last 4 or 5 years. Even though we've only been able to play once the last three weeks of league. Looks pretty iffy for tomorrow too.

What are you talking about 60's being t-shirt and shorts weather? That starts at about 45 deg's, lol. Seriously, you want rain take some of ours we get waaayyy too much.
Too bad a lot your runoff is wasted by dumping it into storm drains.
We get tons of rain up here in the NW, yet in the city in which I live, you can hardly drive even a few blocks without running in to a bioswale which collects rainwater and puts it back into the ground rather than back into rivers, streams, or storm drains.
P.S. I am proud of this, not smug.

I am calling for a very wet winter for 2015-2016. We have an El Nino brewing to the South and traditionally lot's of rain comes to California when that happens.

We are finally building more of that kind of thing here in Seattle. It's taken a long time to get around to it. Portland is way ahead of us.
Texas seems to be getting drowned. I hope the same doesn't happen to California. Rain is good, way too much rain too fast isn't so good.
Starting June 1st, we have to cut back on water by 36 percent, compared to same month for 2013, or pay fines. That is going to be hard as my wife and I already started to conserve in 2013. Basically, we are getting penalized for for conserving water before it was mandatory. Yep. we need an El Nino.
I think that was wishful thinking. This year we already have had two early season hurricanes off Mexico so the El Nino trends are already showing. Also Scripps Ocean Institute, (high creditability) is predicting it also.

The Stones are in town tonight and its been a steady persistent rain all day, sure glad I didn't spend hundreds on a pair of tickets, its gonna be a mighty soggy show
