Honestly, I haven't changed the strings on the bass yet. They're roundwound stainless steel strings and they're very bright sounding. I'm not in love with those strings. I'm going to put Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats on when I can afford a 6 string set. They're around 60-70 bucks the last time I checked. I love those strings.

Love your BB5000 Cutty! They seem to be more rare than the active variety indeed. I'd love to get my hands on one of those! :ninja:
Thanks for the response,but you have a lovely pair!!!!the BB5000 has a big output for a passive bass,i couldn't believe it at first,it's p/ups must be overwound i suppose,but it's all original with the Yamaha original fitted case also,glad you like it,thanks Mule.
