Yamaha RBX374 Bass. Convert active to passive.

A friend has a Yamaha RBX374 Bass with active pickups. We want to convert to a passive system (doesn't play that often and doesn't want the hassle of batteries, which have gone flat half way through a performance before). Anyone had any experience with this?

Welcome to talkbass!

looks like you can just unsolder the preamp, and follow a 2-pickup diagram
modding a yamaha bass to be passive

If you follow jazz bass diagram, you’ll have an extra hole. Dummy knob, VVTT, kill switch... get creative!

PS The talkbass search stinks, but just about anything/everything has been covered. I just go to google and type “blah blah talkbass” and usually find what I’m looking for

good luck!
