YAMAHA TRB 1005 PREAMP help plz !!!

Do you still need the picture?

no man , thank you very much

What i need is a new preamp because mine is toasted. don't you imagine how sad I'm i feel i just destroy my bass :crying:

I made the right wiring and it just don't make any sound ...
I'v been trying to find it on the web but is hard , and i don't have any answer from yamaha yet.. so I'm thinking on buying something new from another brand .

before this , my bass had a dual coil bartolini pups and bartolini 3 band preamp i was very disappointed with the tone , i didn't like it , prefer 1000 times the original pre and pups.

now I'm trying to find a good preamp i don't know .. the U-Retro is my first option. i don't want that thick slap tone with no punch and weak mid range (compared to the original pre).
i wan't it to be fat punchy and well defined .

if you have any suggestions i will really appreciate them thanks again !

good news , i went to an electronic engineer (here in Venezuela) and he fixed my preamp for around 20 dollars xD hahaha . btw thanks for the link just saw this tread and I'm seriously thinking about getting an Audere preamp to my warwick corvette standard .

Just wanna tell my experience with the bartolini pickups and the bartolini preamp on my yamaha trb 1005 . the pups were the EMG45 size dual coil deep tone . the preamp 3 way 5.4

the tone i got was extremely similar to this ken smith, in fact this was the tone i wanted to emulate.

the song start at minute 1:50

beautiful tone but not my style , it was to thick for my taste and i didn't like the midrange tonality .

I'm going to change the stock preamp on my Yamaha trb1005j very soon, but does anyone know how to release the pickup output coil wires (red and white) from the pcb connectors on the stock preamp? I can see theyve used a crimp housing to put them inside the connector:

Do they come out with a good wiggle/pull?

Do you have to use a releasing tool?

Or do you need to cut them free?

I'm worried that if i cut them free it will leave me short on wire to attach to the new preamp.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Smit

PS : Ive uploaded some thumbnails of them, i know a picture can be better than a thousand words in some instances!
