The feared gauntlet through which many pass, and few of which remain unscathed. Especially those brave if not foolhardy souls who endeavor to try to blow minds with the presumptuous conceit of a double-album tour de force.

Anyway, here you go:

Makes my night. :)

Damn, good work! I want to make a joke about tight jeans or something, but I'm too blown away. You deserve a bit of celebration tonight. Pitchfork is usually where I hear that all of my favorite bands suck. Guess it's time to play those M83 links you posted a while ago that are on my ever-lengthening "Things to Listen to/Watch on the Internet" list..

I spent all last night and this morning listening to your new album, Justin, and I have to say that I haven't gotten the same atmospheric chill down my spine since first listening to David Bowie's "Heroes" or My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless". It reminds me of Depeche Mode with more emotion, or Flaming Lips with more structure. My girlfriend loves it, all my friends love it, and I think "Midnight City" is one of the better singles to come out this year. As much of a die-hard Beck fan as I am, I think I'm enjoying this endeavor the most out of all your past work.

My favorite track is probably "New Map". Kudos, Justin, and thanks for providing us with the awesome album.

Hi all,

Wonderjosh; f*&k, I know! ;) Weird, right? Thank you v much!
Dlenaghan: Thank you so so so much!
alecduncan: I believe you have made my day. Sounds to me like you deeply understand this record. Cheers!!!
theoldmiami: yes I did. And most of the guitars, many of the synths and programming, percussion, etc. You name it. Glad you like!

Wow, I'm so stoked, everyone. What a day. And it's #4 on iTunes album charts!!
Best,
Justin

I'm honored! And I totally didn't know that you did all the guitar/synths, great job again.

The gigs at the Black Cat (Washington DC) on October 28th are sold out, but I'm going to try my best to scrounge up some tickets.

Not all those instruments, but a fair amount. :) I couldn't hog up all the glory...Anthony is a master programmer and an innovative guitarist/keyboardist himself.

I had an EARLY load in this morning, and let me tell you, Justin, that my ride, my coffee buzz, the entire length of the record, and the sunrise over the misty hills of Pennsylvania were all so perfectly timed together that wish there was a way I could do it again every single day. I was almost literally floating when I pulled in. Even the other guys were like "Dan, are you OK?" and I just replied "oh yes!!" :^) Well done!!

Thank you dlenaghan. That is very intentional, to avoid the pastiche. Yet the sonic design was approached so naturalistically and without reference that we feel it stands on its own as relatively timeless music, even though it has obvious leanings in that direction as a matter of course.

I'm not touring with them, for now. In my heart, I would be, because frankly I almost feel like I was meant to do so. But there's a chance I might do a cameo or two....

Best,
JMJ
