Yes SUHR! Calling all Suhr players.. Post em'

Anyone know the value of those volume pots? 50k? 25k?

I believe on the passive basses the volume pots are 250k, and 500k on their active basses. 500k sounds too bright IMO! I prefer a more subtle tone even on active basses so I modified both of my active suhrs to 250k . Actually rewired the entire preamp to: vol, vol, ton/passive switch, stack EQ. Much more usable for me....

my basses are active, though i wired a passive switch. my fretless Suhr os totally passive though and it sounds amazing.

on another note their vintage ginle coils are 1000 times better than their humphreys...

Kind off the subject. I recently switched from DR Hi-beams to Long Neck with the taper core. Had tons of magnetic "warble" and even some distortion with the Humphreys. I lowered the pickups too but the pull was still strong and tone anemic. What a mistake.

I avoid taper core strings for that very reason.

Doing my part to resuscitate this thread.

Just picked this up a couple of weeks ago. Copperhead Burst finish, flamed maple top, alder body, rosewood board. Words do not adequately describe how good this sounds and plays. Just... wow.

Yes Suhr update!

It's been a while and my red Suhr is somewhere in Colorado (wish I had it back). Fortunately for me, I have these two that I kept.

I may have one of the only Suhr necked p-basses (courtesy of the nordstrand shop). This awesome bass is sporting a Nordy np4a pickup (reverse p placement) and Nordy pre.

Gunmetal metallic blue is one of my new fav finishes. The jazz is mettalic gold with Suhr singles and Nordy pre.

Both have nickel frets as I am not a fan of the ss frets..
