(Yet) Another Mjt Jazz Bass Build!

Took it into work today and got the frets leveled. Waited a while just so the neck could settle in.

Well, my neck warped, and not in a good way. More relief on the treble side than the bass by quite a bit. Not only that but my truss rod is not doing a whole lot to keep the neck from moving. Before I took the neck off I was adjusting the neck twice a week, kept tightening the truss.

Sooooo….

I really like the bass and my bandmates love how clear and loud the sound is. I ended up ordering another neck from musikraft. This time veneer dark rosewood board, quartersawn maple, clay dots. Quartersawn is probably the better move here anyway, I’m joining a cool touring band here pretty soon so it’ll get some road time and I’ll appreciate the stability of a tough piece of maple. Probably going to go VVT with the controls as well. But yeah, this new neck better not f’n move!
