First of all, my customer is delighted with the strings. It really was his choice and he isn’t disappointed.

About the fit: no pics, but the D and A strings are perfect match (both length and thickness). The G string is a bit long, the string goes into the post past the silk, but there is obviously room for it and it winds right.
The E string is okay I guess. The string is too long and you have to start the winding past the tuning post hole, which is a shame, as it means you have to bind the string pretty hard at the winding. The string is okay, but you may not want to remove the string too often… The thickness of the string is just right to fit the tuning post hole, thanksfully!

I found the same situation with string length you described. It isn't perfect but it is workable. For the feel and tone it is worth it. I had 3 shows at a festival on the weekend and the string feel was so good I played without noticing the strings. They ceased to impinge on my awareness. To me that is a sign the are perfect.
