Looks like the perfect blend between gold, off white and rosewood to me.My gold bass started off as gold with tort. When choosing that combination, I hadn't appreciated that gold is quite a deep tone. Only in the right lighting did the metallic finish and the tort really glow.
Had the bass been spending its life on stage or in a sundrenched home, it would have been fine, but it wasn't, and the gold and the tort usually looked like a gloomy muddle.
Parchment was good for giving the gold life and keeping things warm:

Maybe not always tort, but it does look great on that particular bass.What is your color preference for this Aztec gold body?

This will have a rosewood fingerboard, by the way. I also have two other bases that have anodized pick guards, but I’m not so opposed to using an anodized guard on this one as well…
