Yet more powered speaker stuff!

Hi guys and gals!

My band need to upgrade our speaker system. We currently run 2 15" DB Opera speakers but they really aren't very loud. Mostly we do bar gigs but we do functions and weddings for up to 200 people so we need tops that are gonna be loud. We do have an 18" sub which helps us out a lot.

I'm looking to spend between 1k-1.5k on a set of speakers. Anyone have any recommendations? RCF keeps jumping out to me for some reason. I won't be able to actually try out too many because of my location. Any advice appreciated!

+1 for RCF , I' a big fan/user.
One of the very few companies wich makes everything in-house.

There is a lot of good and bad stuff out there , but as a rule of thumb , you got what you pay for.
What's your budget ?

I might sell off the sub and do a pair of the Ev Live X12's and the matching sub. Or stretch to a set of QSC K12's... Or ... Look for a sound company that is upgrading and see what you can pick off...

The QSC K12s are great. I have two K10s for monitors and it's surprising how full and loud they are, and very clear. A friend of mine setup a local club and spec'ed two K12s and a sub, and it sounded great.

RCF 705as. 15" 700w sub. Sweet thing.

Has anyone owned the EV ZLX 12's??? Or have any experience with them? The price is crazy cheap but I'm just afraid they'll break and crap out 6 months down the line.
