I just realized something...
I have absolutely NO pics of my first car. How weird is that?
I must be more of a freak than I suspected all along!

No pics... first car was an 89 Chevy Silverado. Man, I thought that thing could take a licking, but it was totalled after a month by a soccer mom in some crappy minivan...

Not mine, but my first car was a 1981 Mazda GLC that was handed down to me from my dad. He loved the car.

It met its end one sad summer day when a freeway median cut me off.

The first car I purchased is still my current car, a dirtbag quality 1989 Ford Mustang. I've owned it since 2000, it's owned me for the last few years.

Got it last year. Still has a long way to go to make it satisfactory (stop leaking coolant, stop burning oil, and have some bass in the sound system), but it gets me places and hasn't broken down on me yet.

However, it looked JUST like THIS:

Except I had different rims (they LOOKED like that, but were 70's instead of stock), and under the "hood" (which was inside the hatchback...gotta love them rear engined critters!) it was DEFINITELY not "stock", the 1.6L standard engine had been modified (bolt-on cylinders FTW!!!) to a 2.3L engine, racing cam installed, fuel injection installed, and racing exhaust.

I used to revel in embarrassing all the "Chevy Boys" in their Camaros and Mustangs with that car - it'd pick the front wheels off the ground in the first 2 gears!

I have no pictures of my first couple cars... so I just collected some web images to post

My first car was a 1969 Volvo P1800 in Black with Red interior

I ended up never getting to drive it (long story that ends with my grandfather who used it for a year before my 17th birthday sold it because he felt it needed too much work... it didn't)

So, my first car that I drove was a 6 cylinder 1967 Mustang Coupe.

I wanted a 1971 Mach 1 Mustang but was a couple hundred short, the 67 primered POS was an abandoned project of one of my father's friends. I used it for a few months but it was burning almost as much oil as gas and as a 6 cylinder with 4 bolt wheels, worthless to restore.

Sooooo... when my father bought his 1985 Mustang GT Coupe, I took over his payments on what I consider my first car since I started driving it a couple weeks before my Senior year. A Black 1982 Renault Fuego Turbo

My father and I tweaked it a bit... ported and polished the 16 valve head and increased the Turbo max boost to 14psi. It did 145 MPH easy (and often )

No pics. My first car was a 1959 Vauxhall Victor. It looked loke a '56 Chevy but it was small. I could have my left arm out the window and reach the passenger door with my right hand. It was powered by a 52 hp four banger. Top speed was a little over 70 mph.

My first car was a 1974 Plymouth Valiant, pre-dented on the front left fender by my cousin (from whom I bought it). No pics 'cause I was not proud of that car. It crapped out after 66K miles -- it was smoking out of the dash while driving it to the salvage yard (valves and rings shot, obviously). It died about 500 yards away, so we had to pay to tow it the rest of the way.

I haven't owned a Chrysler product since.
