You and your first car

Everyone's got photos with their first car -- their proudest possession as a teenager -- let's see yours.

My girlfriend in high school took this one. She and I met for dinner the other night and she found this and gave it to me:

This was my first car. I have no pictures with it... Digital cameras weren't around ~18 years ago and my regular photos are somewhere in my mom & dad's crawlspace. :D

My first non-field car was a '78 Honda Civic passed down to me from my parents. i.e. I was the only one stupid enough to keep it running. I should scan in the picture I have of it.... but I don't think I have pictures of it in it's Rustoleum blue beauty.

I was able to get by with public transportation and bicycling untill i was 23 (4 years ago). I needed a car ASAP, so i got a Plymouth Acclaim off craigslist for $400. Here's a google immage... but mine was a '91 as well:

It lasted 5 months before i was rear-ended by a dude w/o insurance. :scowl:

I spent another 2 and a half years getting by with a bicycle and scooter... until 2 years ago, when i picked up my current ride, a '95 Honda Civic. Love that car!!

I had a white version of a '92 or '93, I think. Drove well, but at ~80k miles, there was a short somewhere in the electrical system and it would completely shut off while driving, which was kinda freaky. Then it wouldn't restart. My mom had a Plymouth van that did about the same stuff.

Was still broke, so it got replaced by a Neon, which didn't have the electrical problems, but was still kinda junky and the paint peeled every time it rained.
