Of course the article doesn't mention the fact that when George owned it, it only had a single pickup. Nobody knows how or when the second one was added.
I'd like to hear more about this Hofner bass Paul supposedly rented in the mid-1960s. News to me. It wouldn't be the first time a bass supposedly connected to Paul has sold at auction.

What's this got to do with basses? It wouldn't be talkbass if everyone kept posting things about any old stringed instruments! The forum would soon turn into something else and people would go elsewhere to discuss bass-related stuff.
