Just saw an interview with Kumalo where he was talking about the little bass solo riff. (At 3:44) They looped his riff backwards to get that sound. He said he then had to learn that backwards-sounding riff live; but IDK why not just play something different?
Man, I spent months trying to nail that line when it came out.
Came close, (certainly close enough to gig it), but never got it 100%.

My ex-wife and I did this one for a "recreate a music video" item in a video scavenger hunt, years ago. Hilariously fun to try to do (barstool conga drum, cardboard brass instruments) and I couldn't even pantomime the bass solo right!
I ended up meeting Bakhiti at NAMM 2019 and had dinner with him and a few other people - what a genuinely good dude! He has a little video clip out somewhere where he kind of shows how he plays that line live, but I can't remember where it is offhand.
