2. flame maple neck thru, swamp ash wings, flame maple cap, ebony fingerboard

Comments on looks and tone are equally welcome. Any other combination favorites are welcome but please comment on the above as well. Thanks!

Of course it's a matter of personal taste and primary usage but I definitely prefer the flame maple combination.

It's a bright yellow color, the black will offset it nicely (visually) and the bass will have a nice punch sonically to please you immensely.

I hate flame and quilt maple, so they're not going to get a vote from me. My money would be on wenge NT, wenge board, plain maple body.

IMO you cannot go wrong with figured maple and swamp ash. This combination both sonically and aesthetically has always been very pleasing to my senses.

Ash or alder wings, no cap.
And I'd not go for warwick.
