You know you have too many basses when...

You decide to organise The Hoard...
because you've just purchased that new [brand/model/colour] bass you've always wanted to add to the collection...
and discover you already have two of that kind, identical brand/model/colour...
and upon further organising/cleaning you discover a few more duplicates of other basses in the collection,
but only remember purchasing one of each [brand/model/colour] bass.


*NB: The aforementioned scenario has never happened to me, well, not with basses – I WISH!

I've gotten to the point where I am no longer 100% sure how many basses I've owned in my life.

I'm only 99% sure how many I have right now because I've recently sold a few and I have at least two in the attic in cases.

I'm a glutton but in my own defense I have given several away to beginners and to an inner city youth music program.

Giving an acoustic guitar and a clarinet to my cousins' teenage kids.

I also 'lend' things to people coz I don't have the room. Just last week, I took a Fender Rhodes over to my keyboard players house to babysit.

My Retired Dad used to own a music store. I'm used to a house full of music stuff. He still has a storage unit with stuff he hires out.... or so he says.
