Thanks Damon! Yes, Ive been in contact with Mark for a while now! I find his work incredibly captivating. My dream is to build a Bazantar (or, more likely, having one built) someday, perhaps a smaller 5/8 bass version. I've been thinking about that a lot for the past years, conceptualizing the dimensions, talking to people who work with carbon fibre... But alas, there just isn't much to be done if the monetary situation is such that I can barely sustain myself as is...

Brand new band, this was the first time I'd met these folks, the scheduled bass player got sick and they called me the night before. Super nice people though, and I like their songwriting and vocal styles.
They called you the night before they were going to shoot a video? You disported yourself fabulously but boy, that’s some pressure.
Thanks @El Thumpo , but honestly between the simplicity of the songs and everyone being appreciative, I didn't feel much pressure. The approach was something like "let's run these ~6 songs a few times, if we get one keeper that's great, if not then we still had fun." An excellent attitude as far as I'm concerned
I dove deep into electronic noise making during the pandemic but have finally started to incorporate my upright playing as I plan for a short solo bass EP. Effects heavy.
This is AMAZING! I definitely I see some familiar styles.

Here are a couple of audio only clips of a prior iteration of my string band - about 4 years ago. Not HORRIBLE sound for a single mic in a living room. IMO, the most significant thing is my buddy Zach on mando and clawhammer, and vocals on High on a Mountain. One of my favorite pickers to play with. Boy, I miss playing with him.
Skip Don't Think Twice if you don't want to be subjected to my vocals!
