If it were me, I'd do one or two oversized knobs that overlap the edge of the pickguard a bit.

I'm really digging this, and love the knob placement!
No lipstick pups for me tho... The blade hummers look good - my immediate thought was 2 Dimension style hummers.

Definitely go ahead with this body shape though and post the progress!!

Reminds me of a Fernandes Vertigo, which I always liked - their pickguard shape complimented the body well, too, imho...

Note the body contouring for the forearm. That'll be the secret to comfort and playability.

Watch where you mount the strap pin at the bridge end. Too high and it'll increase the reach to first fret. Too low and it'll be a bit too heavy, esp when moving around on stage.

Colour matching the headstock to the body would look awesome.

I quite like it.
Not straight out crazy about it, but I like that it's a bit different and as someone already mentions the shape of the pickguard really suits the shape well and brings the best out of it.
I'd say go for it!

Like the body shape. Reminds me of the Reverend Mercalli, but with a more refined top upper bout. Nice!

I don’t like the pickguard shape so much. The curve of the guard by the lower neck cutout seem out of place somehow. At least to my eyes.

I like it and the guard. I second a vote for TV Jones Thunderblades. Have them in a custom fretless Drake running passive and they can be huge and discreet.

I'll third the TVJones pups. Put them in the MM HH spots. That would give you one roughly centered between the PG and bridge, and the other roughly centered on the PG. I also agree to be careful with the butt end strap button. You might want to try a few places before you paint it, then putty the failed locations. Maybe a Strat jack?

With Dano style construction that’d lend itself to being a slab .... I’m super comfortable with slabs, personally. Though I’ve also figured out a way to do some contours using this style construction ...

Love the shape! Careful with the balance. If you're worried about neck dive, may extend the upper horn a little further. move the bridge back as far as you can.

I think it's great. It has its own personality, and IMO the pickguard and body shapes work really nicely together.
Also, you managed to draw a shape that relates well to the Ibanez headpiece shape while not looking at all like an Ibanez body.
A few little details (some kind of funky knobs, for example, as folks have already mentioned) would finish the picture really nicely.

Good work! I'd love to see the finished project.

The PG where it comes off the neck on the bottom side looks like an afterthought. The rest of the guard (somewhat) follows the body contours but below the neck it just goes off on it’s own. If you are trying to draw attention to that area it worked, but IMO not in such a good way.
Other than that be careful, every hep cat in the biz will want one.

Agree absolutely on a TV Jones pickup. Trons or Blades. They’re both excellent. And they don’t sound like everything else. Add a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] passive mid choke to supplement the tone knob for a little extra special sauce in case you’re feeling adventurous.

If you’re going to go custom, go custom right?
