You vs. your predecessor

I replaced a guy who is a good bit more experienced than I am, at least he has certainly gigged longer. I think he's a better player too, although I can hold my own. He quit because he was tired of the weekend bar scene, long gigs, low $'s, setup early and teardown late, etc. Basically, the money wasn't worth the hassle. I still enjoy gigging enough that I haven't developed that problem yet (although I probably will get tired of the late gigs after awhile).
