I'm a big fan of the fender and ric shapes, and I love viola basses, but recently I became so enamored of the Lakland Decade, early Wal, and Gibson SG shapes that I ordered this...
Pretty cool.

T-Birds since they've been with me since the early 1970's.
Les Pauls come in second.
Ideal?
Headless T-Bird made of 1980's Steinberger synthetic material.
No "neck dive", no tuning issues, no worries if it gets knocked over or dropped, every fret sounds as full as the next(NO dead or weak spots on the neck).

As far as I know, Warmoth doesn't do custom shapes. I ordered it from Tomm at RedemptionBass

He's great to work with, and was really great to collaborate with throughout the process. The price of each body varies, but I can say that it cost me considerably less than a Warmoth.
The body is actually with him how. I ordered it for T-40 neck and bridge, but after deciding to go with a BAII, the neck pocket needs to be deepened. When I get it back I'll post a separate thread.
NS Spector is the most comfortable one i've tried.
I like the P shape, but the J is too big a slab of wood for me.

My favorite's the Explorer (or Destroyer or Kelly or Z...) body shape. They sit well on my lumpy chud or on the end of a strap. They feel, sound, and look killer, they accept Kahler tremolos pretty well (for the most part), and there isn't a thing about them that I'd change, apart from the idiosyncratic modifications that I'd want to do to any bass.
And yeah I am talking about basses and not guitars!

I *loved* the body shape of my old Warwick Thumb (shoulda never sold the damn thing back in the day).
