Your Favorite Bass Store & Why..?

If you're serious about opening a store online or brick and mortar... the Boston area has NOTHING. Literally only Guitar Center now as Daddys Junky Music went out & Gguitars in New Haven which did high end stuff went away

There is no bass-only music store in my neck of the woods (Northeasthern USA), that I know of anyway, and it seems if there was one around here it'd do quite well. Boston, Hartford, RI, & Western MA all have good music scenes. NYC is not far either.

I always thought they should open a "Basscentral North" or a "Bass Northeast" up here. I'd shop there regularly.

Love Basscentral BTW, also Best Bass Gear is great too.

Thanks for the quick feedback guys! This is great stuff. Also, if you don't wanna post something and would prefer to PM me on it, please do. I won't post anything you don't wanna share publicly but I do appreciate everyone's honesty!

If you're up in Corona, you owe it to yourself to bop on down to Bass San Diego if you haven't already.

I love Bass San Diego, really you guys I think are the best in CA. I like Bass Exchange, but I have had some issues there. I am really looking to start an online service that caters to the everyday bassist needs. Not sure what direction to go from there, but the feedback here has been amazing. Learning a ton.

Bass Central. I love Beaver! He has everything in stock and will take anything out for you to audition. His staff is great and are all players and know their stuff. Most of my visits have been coupled with a lesson with Dave LaRue or at least hearing him play for a while. Always a fun road trip and I have gotten some great deals with him.

I'm an MA native and I've been thinking the same for a while. I know that owning a retail store, particularly one that carries expensive, niche merchandise such as bass gear, is difficult, but I do think it would be a fun gig to open something that could supply New England and the entire Northeast with high quality bass gear.

Well I might be headed that way in the next year or so, so maybe you guys will get your wish. Not sure if we are going to land in Cleveland or Boston, but either way sounds like there is definitely a need regardless!

Sweetwater: Customer service unparalleled in the "big kids" club of mass MI dealers.

MF: Widest selection, decent customer service, great return policy makes it easier to buy sight unseen. Sorry mom&pop.:hmm:

I did try Bass Central once for a Lakland that was probably the most disapointing purchase I ever made, but it wasn't 100% their fault so I might use them again in the future.
