Your Love -The Outfield (If I had a dime for every time I sang that song. There was a time I had to do it twice a show. It kills every time.)

Cowboy Song - Thin Lizzy (Something about that song grabs every audience every time. Love the breakdown in the middle. Love the harmonies in both vocals and guitar.)

Power of Love - Huey Lewis (From Back to the Future. Great groove and layered parts. Never fails to please the crowd. Gotta have a tight band to pull it off right.)

Takin It to the Streets - Doobies. (Michael McDonald is a funky white man. What a great groove. Ridiculously good layered parts. Killer piano.)

Shoot Me Straight - Brothers Osborne (My current favorite. Straight up rock with a little bit of funk for fun....oddly enough done by a "country band". Gets the redneck ladies on the dance floor INSTANTLY.)

So many great covers. Who's cover of the Temptations' "Shakey Ground" is best? Delbert McClinton, Etta James, Phoebe Snow, Fishbone?

Man, those are such great artists... gonna have to find Phoebe's version, never heard that one before!

Carlos Santana doing Oye Como Va, Tito Puente's classic song. Both are great, and Carlos really made it his, with his flavorful guitar splashed over that unreal rhythm section! I can thank Santana for getting me into Latin Music, like Salsa!

I hesitate to post this here, merely because this song has been covered ad nauseum and I don't think anyone should ever cover it again. I cringe when I see someone else has recorded it.

Why is that? Well, it's because there are only two covers of it that are worth listening to and this song should have died when Jeff Buckley did. It has been done a thousand times but it will never be done any better than he did it.



Bonus point if you can guess the other version that I love.
