have you heard "jake the bone", if that's whimpy i don't know what to say to you......

he also played for Steely Dan, Dire Straits, Micheal Jackson (the whole thriller album and on others too), Bruce Springsteen,pink floyd!, don henley (who is an excellent drummer himself).....

do you really think these people would have wanted him on their albums if he weren't any good.

i love the guy......

Most drummers who have been listed I agree are great drummers. Dave W., Vinny, Bill Cobham, D. Chambers, S. Gadd, they're all unbelieveable. If I HAD to pick ONE who amazes me the most it would be Bill Bruford because his approach is the most original. Plus he's not only an amazing Prog-Rock drummer for early Yes, The Bill Bruford Band and King Crimson but he's also an amazing jazz drummer in Earth Works! He does it all and nobody does it like him. Plus he WRITES very melodic and complex music for other instruments, he's not JUST a drummer. (Not that being a drummer is a JUST) Truly an original!
