Couldn’t get enough of Blue Velvet, and while Wild At Heart is technically a 90’s film, it gestated in the 80’s. Eraserhead(which I didn’t see until 1979)set the pace for a lot of the visual aesthetic that came after. Dune I was kinda so-so about, but no director bats a thousand.Dune?
The Houston Juneteenth Blues Festival was always incredible. I saw almost every major blues artist at this fest in the 80s for free.
15 feet from John Lee Hooker playing the gnarliest , most funky distorted guitar you ever heard in your life. And that's before the band joined him.
This became a Thursday thru Sunday event after the first few.
Concert shirts, acid washed jeans, hair metal, second generation Camaros and girls looked like Kelly Bundy.......

I miss the days when "real high top running shoes" were plentiful and the whole family of hair follicles still lived on my head..oh yeah,,, the punk music I loved when I was in that phase(don't rock it a whole bunch anymore.)
Lets see, I was either on the road or building houses in those days. I was on MTV....dont ask, cause I'll never tell, it was the first couple months they were on. I didnt see the video till decades later when youtube came along.
