Odd as it may sound, Garage sales and estate sales. It's amazing what you can pick up cheap and sell for a very good profit.

i was a fishing guide here on my home river,it was a period in my life that cost me a fortune but opened my eyes so many ways and enriched my soul so much it was worth every penny i never made chasing steelhead and salmon,what's that you say?

why yes i did charge for fishing trips but i never worked at it full time,always did my autobody work,it was more an addiction to know what each section of river had going on(they are after all; migratory species)to tie killer steelhead flies,own/cast flyrods of up to 18ft in length,even did some prototype work for custom rodbuilders,,,,,recite the legend and lore of every riffle run and bend i could muster,the river owned me and i loved it,had a great time untl the runs withered down to trickles and my hypertension was discovered.

Really? I've got a butt load of r/c flying stuff, most is NIB. 2 and 4 stroke glow engines, gas engines, electric motors, ESC's, batteries, a bunch of electric and nitro/gas ARF's from 450 electrics to 30cc gas, kits, radios, battery chargers, etc, etc, etc. LMK if you are interested.

Woah! Seriously good weathering there, very impressed - especially at that scale. Of course, you can mime the hard bits...

I used to dabble with kit building & railway modelling, but gave it all up when I started playing with the real thing:

Ex-GWR 57XX Class No. 3738 (built 1937) - Brush finish, hand painted lettering.

Ex-Alexandra Docks & Newport Junction Railway/GWR No. 1340 (built 1897) - Brush finish, hand painted lettering.

Invalid Link Removed (built 1951) - Livery gen as above.

Internal detailing on W231, painted wood grain effect.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (built 1897) - livery reconstructed from contemporary photographic evidence, & re-applied for the first time in 100+ years.

Don't get involved on the engineering side - I'm more into the painting, lining & signwriting side of it. Taught myself Graining/Scumbling as well as a fair bit of joinery, but I've a way to go on those yet... just waiting for the right projects to come along. Next target: French Polishing.
