my first bass was a Squire P Bass, i got it at 15. sold it at 16, and somehow got it back when i was 20. i will never sell it again. i love this bass!

the tuners rattle like crazy but i love how it feels.

My first bass was back in 1965, it was an EKO violin body model 995 (righty turned lefty) my dad bought it for $89. CAD which was a $1.10 U.S. in those days!
My first real authentic lefty was a Gibson EBO which I swapped straight trade for my upside down righty Fender Mustang orange with a red racing stripe!

I remember that thread well. I'm so glad you got it back and at least now YOU control what happens with it. I hope your issues are working towards a good outcome, and you can play your "wierdly strung" bass again.

I'm not sure where in Arizona you are, but if there's ever anything I can do...please...just PM :)

My first bass was an Ibanez SR800 made in japan, but till i had the money for it I had to borough from my friend his metallic white Epiphone bass. Than few years later when I was upgraded for a Peavey Rudy Sarzo bass he bought my SR800.

My first just bass guitar. First electric was a doubleneck. Was a 1970's bicentenial issue gibson thunderbird. The same year they came out. Had to go thru a few to find one without obvious easilly found defects in craftmanship. Sloppy wing joints as main thing wrong with several I examined. How oh how did I afford a gibson thunderbird by myself as young teen? I worked for it and saved up the money for getting a new bass in the price range. Instead of wasting money on cheapo inbetween cure gass idiocy basses. Took a few months, but worth it.

I started on guitar but i really only liked playing noise, not drone but speed, and kept it musical. no one around my area really played bass and i always listened to bass in music but didnt realize it as a kid. once i played bass it was an epiphany, everything i wanted was right there. i got lucky and had about $400 bucks saved up and went to a local spot and they had two rickenbackers one burgundy the other midnight blue for $600, $600. i got paid the next day and only the burgundy was left. here she is and she is my only bass (i had got a stingray5 in 04 but sold it for a new amp).

Dean Edge 09 Playmate Pack. Amp and everything. I learned to play on that one, formed a band with that one, and get this, I still use it! I turned it into a fretless, slapped some flats on it, and it sounds like a ton of McCartney-ish thunder that works perfectly for deep-voiced songs, or soft songs when I take it's tone knob down a bit. I can't believe that it gained second life, but it is very much useful, and used.
