These are my main line up. I have a Warwick Corvette Std. bubinga but it's loaned out to a friend right now.
My main 4 are stock and I might miss having a 6 string in there but I never keep them around long when I have them.

You don't sound too sure.... I would be worried!

I would just have to sell most of my collection and keep these:
1. My 5 string fretless Carvin Bolt bass. It has a tobacco burst finish with unlined ebony board.
2. 1974 Fender Jazz. Totally original except for the Hipshot tuners.
3. 1996 Fender Restless Precision. Lipstick red. Hipshot detuner.
4. Kala California fretless 5 string.

Thinking of my four forever basses, I have three of them.
1981 Fender Precision Special
2004 Alembic fretless
2001 Chandler. Hand made model of a 1750 Busan, with Vancouver Island wood from bow wizard Reid Hudson.

So I'm happy with the three but since I get one more...
I'd choose another upright. Maybe something from the 17th, 18th or 19th century. Busan, Bussetto, Amati. Italian, French, English, American I don't know. Uprights are super tricky in size, sound and playability.

I'd get to play a bunch of uprights before choosing

1. P with rounds.
2. P with flats.
3. Jazz with rounds.
4. A bass with two humbuckers (either Musicman or Cort Artisan style).

All of them completely custom basses with wenge necks with my choice of: profile, radius, frets, truss-rod access at headstock. The three Fender style basses with heavy worn pre-CBS bodies.

2014 Fender American Standard P - everyone needs a P
Lakland 55-01 - in case I need a 5 string
'76 Gibson Thunderbird - nostalgia, my first good bass purchased new in 1977
Ibanez Mikro - due to rheumatoid arthritis, spondylitis, degenerative disk disease and a number of bulging disks there are days (a lot lately) where this is all I can play.

I can get by with these 4 forever easily.

Hmm, I currently have eleven basses and I'm happy with all of them. But, if I really had to narrow it down to four it would be...

My 2012 Fender American Select Precision, this is my number one. I love the way it feels, sounds and looks. I can't imagine a bass that would dethrone it for me.

My 2015 Rickenbacker 4003SW. This gets a lot of strap time from me. If I don't reach for my Select P-bass, my walnut S model Rickenbacker seems to get the nod.

I love P-basses, so another one is going on the list. At the beginning of 2012 I was ready to plunk down my money and buy my first "good" bass. Up until that point my most expensive bass was roughly $250 used. I started trying anything and every thing. It looked like I was going to buy a new American Standard Precision. The day that I went to buy one I went to three shops before I could find an American Precision with a maple neck. I walked into a Guitar Center and stumbled upon one of the 125 American 2011 60th Anniversary Precisions made in Sunburst for Guitar Center. It just plays wonderful, I love it.

Lastly, my 2015 American Deluxe Dimension HH V would get the nod. It is currently my only 5 string and it fits the bill.

I answered this a year and a half ago, as seen above. Currently my answers have not changed. But once the Rickenbacker 4003 SW/5 that I have on order arrives, I'm thinking (hoping) that it takes over my American Deluxe Dimension HH V's spot on this list.
