Your ideal bass collection

Roswewood P bass... Got it.
Maple Jazz Bass... Got it.
Rosweood Jazz Bass... Don't got it.
Reggie Hamilton Jazz Bass...Don't got it.
Jazz Special... Don't got it.
Sterling 5 HH... Don't got it.
Bongo 5 HH... Don't got it.
Stingray 5 HH... Don't got it.
Les Paul Carved Top... Don't got it.

I need to start gettin' it.

--Ritter Roya Concept fretless... I'll probably never have it.

--Ritter Roya (all decked out with precious material)... Very likely I'll never have it.

--Ritter Raptor fretless lightwave... might get one some day.

--Carl Thompson... recently got one used (not exactly how I would have ordered it but I'm happy with it and will consider that part of my dream complete - definitely don't want the unreasonable wait of a custom build with the chance of not getting what I ordered).

--Pete Hilton 6 string fretless... just put my deposit down! expected in Oct or Nov 2011!

--Cliff Bordwell 4 string... I know what I want and (crossing my fingers) will get an order in by early 2012.

--Fodera... not sure which one... my fingers are crossed still.

--Ritter Cora...

The list is longer but everything rates significantly lower on my "dream list" while spelling it out only tells me that my bass dreams are far from and will likely never be complete. My guitar wish list is longer.

24 Fret Rickenbacker 4003...might take a while to get the money for something like that...or I'd need some serious woodworking skills.

One of those cool headless status basses...uh...like Chris from muse plays.

Plus a good old Double Bass tho I don't play any upright yet, but I'll be happy to learn to if I have a good one..

And an Ampeg SVT-VR or blue line with it's matching 810 cabs.. And .. Oops... Only basses eh? Ok I'm sorry :D

for now I'm happy with my 2 P-bass :)
But still it's fun to dream bout them..

Nice thread to share my dream

My collection works perfectly for me, and I have basses very close to the "ideal." But if I were starting from scratch, I'd do things a little differently. The first three would be the "core," as their close relatives are in my current herd:

1. Fender American Deluxe Jazz V. I have a 2008 Am. Std. Jazz V, which is great, but the new Deluxe seems to have better playability. And the active/passive config is cool.

2. Mike Lull four string J-bass. I have two outstanding Jazz fours, but I'd prefer a Mike Lull for playability, 21 frets, and most importantly the lighter weight.

3. G&L SB-1. I have a phenomenal SB-2, but I'd prefer the minimalist SB-1 with a tone control.

4. Dingwall Super J with P/J pickups.

5. Another J, probably a G&L JB, which I have.

6-7. Two Lakland Hollowbodies, fretted and lined fretless.

8. How about another five? I'll take a G&L USA L-2500 please.
