Your most playable bass?

I have a one off 35" 5 string by Jon Hill He used to run production for Dean I think. It's your standard "hippie sandwich" bass but plays like a dream across all 5 strings. Bart soaps and a Kahler bridge thats a pain in the ass to set but once it's set the bass will stay in tune for a month. I love it!!

Highway One Jazz. It just works and playing it is practically telepathic at this point. Only thing I want to do is install some Lollars and maaaaaaaaaybe a Babicz bridge. With six month old DR Sunbeams it's just a joy.

Thin jazz-style neck + 17" radius fretboard = these things pretty much play themselves!

I have a really nice Schecter. It was my first new bass that I bought for myself. I love it. The action is so low and smooth. It's like butter. Then I bought a Squire P/J. I guess it's a Deluxe? I put a Warmoth Bubinga/Ebony Jbasss neck on it and replaced the split pickup six months ago and I hardly play my Shecter ever since. The Squire has a higher action and it's not as nice in some ways but I just love the feel and tone from it.

of all the basses I have tried, (Ric's, Reverends, Kubicki's, Pedullas, BC Rich's, other Fenders, etc...) my 80 Jazz is probably the one that seems to "play itself". It is the only bass that I have ever had that I didn't have to "force" myslef to like some aspect of (shhhhh...don't tell my P-bass!)

I bought a USA Peavey Foundation 5 string off here completely disassembled. Body was stripped bare. I refinished it in classic white reassembled it,and did a complete set up with new GHS Bass Boomer medium lights. Out of all my bass's this one has the best action,and playability for a small investment. Played a gig this past Saturday night with it,and was amazed how easy the neck was to play on. Now the big question. Why can't I get my high dollar stuff to play like this one?

I only have an American Special Jazz right now, but I'd dare say it would give most other basses that've passed through my hands a run for their money. The Squier P/J I had for a while and the MIM Jazz I'd bummed off a friend while saving up for it come nowhere near.

Between the slim profile and satin finish, the way the neck feels in my hand is to die for. Combine that with low action and a nicely worn set of 45-100 Chromes, I don't think I could ask for more in a Jazz. (Even my buddy with an Am Standard can't get enough of it.)

The only other bass that really knocked my socks off in terms of playability was a 60th Anniversary P I crossed paths with at GC (but I don't own it :(, so I guess that doesn't really count)
