Your opinions on squier bronco bass?

My Bronco has a Dragonfire standard Duo-rail and Chromes. I love the sound. It can get wonky if the pickup is too close to the strings. I keep mine about 1/4" off. The only downside for me is the uncovered pickup has a sharper edge than the covered PUs. The no hum helps too.
Definitely in its own wheel house but a great Fender with flats thump. I like it better than my P. Mine needed the fret ends dressed, but it really plays nice now and I will gig with it anytime.

Anybody knows if the Bronco bridge has now a correct string spacing?
As for what I read in this thread it seems recent batches had incorrect spacing of saddle notches so I wonder if Fender solved this issue. I already have a heavily modded Bronco but would like to buy a new one to keep with the two saddle bridge for a vintagey look.

+1 I had a similar setup with a dual rail pickup and chromes for the past few years. Just finished the next upgrade with Fender USA pickups and a B/W/B pickguard

Here's my modded Bronco. I've had it about 4 months. Mods include: Sentell Big Sis Pickup, P Bass CTS orange harness, Hipshot Vintage bridge, nylon tape wound strings, all black pick guard and Fender knobs (to fit the bigger pot poles). The tuning machines are functioning ok so I'm gonna leave em (although the gear ratio is kinda wide). Out of the box the neck and body were really great, especially the neck. I've only had long scale basses before this so it was fun to learn playing on the short scale. The most drastic mod was definitely the electronics. The stock pickup and harness were pretty weak. Not terrible mind you, but a bit anemic. The Sentell pickup is hand made and takes about 2 weeks for the dude to make it and ship it. But man, that thing is sinister and boomy. I also changed the harness at the same time. I wouldn't really go through the trouble hooking that Sentell up to the stock harness as it is fairly cheap. So now it has way more signal presence through the amp and the dynamics are wider. I got the pick guard and harness off eBay. Anyway, I extremely happy with my purchase and upgrades. It's really a great bass that's a lot of fun to play.

Jerry Sentell makes two pickups that fit the MusicMaster/Bronco basses, too, so the temptress is real.

I got mine 4 moths ago and wrestled with the intonation for about 3 days then gave up and replaced it.
