your playing style

Probably most like Geddy Lee, with less talent and creativity. I consider him to be my biggest influence, and Jaco and Billy Sheehan had a huge impact on me as well.

My earliest influences were the bass players on early 2nd Chapter of Acts and Andrae Crouch albums. David Hungate, Leland Sklar, Herb Melton, Abraham Laboriel, and James Felix, so those guys helped mold me stylistically as well.

I think it's a parental thing. I start playing around 10 or so and at that time I was influenced by bruce, jones, butler, clarke and the basslines coming out of the wrecking crew. I didn't know it at that time that most of these top 40 dorks used session players.

The fingerstyle stays with you even though I use a pick most of the time. It was easier to get the vocals out at that time but it doesn't matter now. I play whatever fits the situation at the moment, a bass prostitute.

I think it would be far more interesting to have other musicians answer this question about us.
I Had that experience recently at a jam with some new pro musician friends. They said I had a Jamerson/Motown type of style .What a compliment for me.Im still learning the fret board.Played drums for 50 years, and only dabbled with bass previously.James Jamerson and paul Mccartney are my main playing style influences.Masters in my old school mind.
