Yea, I don't know....I don't recall seeing him play by the bridge, but he had the rest there on a bass in the Blues Brothers, so I did the same. Actually I can't be sure it was his bass in the movie, but it was the first one I saw like it, so, I did learn it from him I guess...

Small world. We used to have a cottage on Lamoka Lake (Weller Island), so I'm very familiar with the Lost & Found. You're absolutely right about the wings and beer. Loved it down there. Our kids loved taking our small boat to the rope swing on Red Bank. Did you live on the lake when you were in the area?

Stayed on the lake back in May. My wife is from Corning so I've been introduced to many cool things. Lost and Found, Pudgies Pizza, and a nice stop at Hipshot in Interlaken. Oh, that guitar store in Ithaca is pretty cool too.

One way or the other, it is interesting. Anyone placing a finger-rest there would inevitably play 'at the bridge'. (otherwise, why put it there, a place it never was?) So t was either 'Dunn' by him, or...?

Duck usually anchored his thumb on the pickup or, earlier when he had the chrome covers on, anchored on the E string (or the edge of the pickguard) between the pickup and neck.

BTW speaking of pretty basses and of Duck, his son Jeff (great guy) still has this:

(bass is a '59 - neck marked "4/59") The amp was his dad's too. He has quite a few of his other basses - including a 60's t-bird!

I guarantee you that if you put your bass in a case at the end of a gig and do a poll, 99% of the audience won't even be able to tell you what color it was. Try it. And I'm guessing your woodworkers friends aren't posting pics of their tools no matter how "pretty" they are.

I agree. I play boutique basses and one night I brought
a Traveler P bass to a gig and no one noticed. Not even the band.
