Your prettiest bass

I’ve been visiting TB for a long time and I realised some time ago that this forum is mostly about the esoterica of bass. Not so much about music. Not so much about how to play. Those things do come up but they aren’t the main thrust. The thing itself - the bass - is the focus. That’s ok though. There’s still plenty for me to enjoy. The eye candy is mostly good and I enjoy it but it’s not my main interest.

You're a much quicker learner than I, and you're absolutely right.

What you determine as 'real content' may not necessarily apply to the next person in line. My instruments are very much tools (my bandmates are not, fortunately), but my basses are also aesthetically pleasing to me. For me, as I suspect many in this thread, visual appeal can be an inspirational component in the making of music. Btw, if you are in the Lamoka Lake area, the Lost & Found has some really good wings... and cold Yeungling. :D

Small world. We used to have a cottage on Lamoka Lake (Weller Island), so I'm very familiar with the Lost & Found. You're absolutely right about the wings and beer. Loved it down there. Our kids loved taking our small boat to the rope swing on Red Bank. Did you live on the lake when you were in the area?

I just got my custom Kiesel Icon on Tuesday, and she's slick...British Racing Green (last pic is in brighter lighting). The knobs I put on are actually more brown/orange than red, to compliment the headstock (look red in pics). It's so easy to play, and just growls like a beast.

I think the bass in your avatar is pretty.

Thanks, but you might not think so if you saw it up close. I crushed the top by passing out (dehydration, not drunkenness) in the middle of a song and falling on it in 2014. The top shows cracks that are held together by 31 cleats. But most important, it sounds excellent!

Carvin and Kiesel. Highly underrated. I had a Carvin BB75. Traded it. Regret it! Enjoy. Nice bass!

It happens because something that could be solved with a simple "go shag yourself " to a troll is not allowed here. Everything has to be solved Yawwwnnn..."politely"

I get it - but once that red-line is crossed, it's LCD. I'm not a believer in overt political correctness - but I do understand the need for certain guidelines. Anything can be taken too far.
