your progression on amps

Supro w/1 12" - I forget which model. I destroyed it playing bass thru it at excessive settings.
Ampeg B-15 - If anyone sees one with "Claude" engraved in the little plastic light-up I was one of the few who sent it in for engraving...
Fender Dual Showman - I blew up a lot of D140s under warranty...
SUNN 200S - great tone, a bit wimpy for a rock band.
Ampeg SVT - wound up with 2 SWR Henry the 8X8s - sounded wonderful until it was time to move it. Not so wonderful then. Still sounded great though.
Cervin Vega P.O.S. w 2 18" folded horns - sounded twice as crappy with two, blew up twice as fast.
SUNN 2000S w/1 15" - another great amp
Fractal AxeFX Ultra
Fractal AxeFX II
currently iPad Air w/JamUpPro, Audiobus, and a bunch of other apps.

I probably left out a few.

I had a few cool guitar amps for a while too. All gone to kollectors.

I don't miss them that much except for a couple of 'em every now & then.

I love my iPad stuff. Looking forward to the golden age.

Edit: Forgot the B-18 w/EV, probably more...

These threads are fun, because I can't believe the stuff I used to cart around!

Sears Riviera amp with 212 cab. Blew up.
Courier amp with 2 212 cabs. Speakers died, then the amp.
Traynor Custom Special with 810 cab.
Acoustic 370 with 2 18" folded horn cabs.
Ampeg SVT with 2 810 cabs.
IVP preamp, 2 Bryston 4B amps, 4 215 JBL cabs.

Then I retired for a while, and sold off the amps. Got back into playing:

GK 800 combo with 15"
Eden WT-550 with 210 XLT.
Added 210 XST.
Eden WT-800C - 2 of them, both died.
Eden WT-1205 - started getting flaky, traded it in.
Aguilar db750
Added another 210 XST.

Went into downsizing mode:

Sold Eden 210XLT.
Added Aguilar TH500.
AER Amp Three.
Sold TH500.
The db750 is up for sale as we speak.
On order: Demeter pre / Minnie combo head.

The long range plan is that the WT-550 will live mostly in my studio. I could sell it, but I really like it...

For small gigs I'll use the AER. For bigger, I'll use the Demeter and one or two XST cabs. And I suspect that if the Demeter works out, it'll get a lot more use in the studio as well.

Don't know if I answered this, but...

Crate BX50 got me through high school, then I bought a used Ampeg pro2. It died while under 30 say warranty so I replaced it with a used 3 pro. At the same time I got an Ampeg 810e. Pretty dramatic jump. I used that until I moved 5 years later. Sold the 810 and kept the 3 pro.
I then bought a used Hartke TA410. Sold that after a year or so and got a used ampeg 410hlf. Sold the 3 pro, bought a new 7 pro. Sold the hlf, bought a new pair of avatar Tb153.
Picked up a pf350 used here, and a 210av used here as a rehearsal space rig.

This was a fun trip down memory lane. As far as I can remember...

poopy 15 watt combo amp that came with my first bass

2x15 cab found in the garbage with an old stereo receiver as a head

Same cab with a Fender BXR 400 head

Peavey 2x15 with the Fender BXR head

SWR 6x10 with a Hartke 3500 head

********************
Break for a few years in college
********************

Ampeg b25 2x15 cab with some behringer head

Same cab with a GK400rb that didn't live for very long

Same cab with an Ampeg svt-350h

Ampeg 1x15 with the 350h

Ampeg svt 410hlf with the 350h

Traynor yba-1a with matching 2x15 cab – I kept this around for a while and used it with another band in another practice space. Sold it to a buddy a while back.

The 410hlf with a GMT 300b until it died

The 410hlf with a TC Electronic 500 or something like that, I got rid of this real quick

The 410hlf with a GK 800rb

Genz Benz 610 with the GK800

Mesa 410 with the GK800

Mesa 410 with the GK800 power section and a sunn guitar head pre – poopie was getting weird. Sounded awesome though.

Ampeg 410hlf and svt classic – occasionally I use a Wiktor Amplification Big Clown instead of the classic

I kind of want to pick up one of those super lightweight heads and cabs for when we play shows and I don’t have the car but I’m not sure I’m ready for that.

Wow. I'll try. But like a few of the guys posting here, I'm going back a WAYS for some of these.

Memorably:

My first amp was homemade back in 1977. It was a Sears cassette recorder with a 1/4" jack soldered on to the wires that had gone to the read head. This created a hugely hairy solid state overdrive distortion that we didn't know well enough to despise at that point. But it only put out 2 (two) Watts. You read that right. TWO whole Watts.

Eventually I got a Peavey TNT130 to be my practice amp. But it just wasn't serious enough to gig.

For my first serious gig-worthy amp, I found a used Acoustic 360/361.

Loved that for a while. Got kind of tired of it and found a deal on an old Ampeg SVT with the 8x10 fridge. It had a awesome little distortion that I loved...until I found out that my favorite feature was actually a symptom. It was a tube stage going bad. It finally quit and replacing the 14 tubes cost more than I'd paid for the amp and cab. And when I finally got it back, it didn't sound anything like it had before when I liked it. So I sold it.

Then I was in the Navy for a few years.

After I got out, I still had that TNT130 in my parents garage. I used it at first, until I found a GK 800rb and a pair of Hartke 4x10 Transporters.

I used the GK/Hartke rig for a year or two. Then I found a used Acoustic TC210p powered 2x10 cab that made the Peavey a viable practice amp.

Then I found an amazing deal on an Acoustic B4 head at a GC grand opening...because Acoustic had just gone out of business. I put it on top of that TC210p and put that on a Randall 2x15 cab and was done for several years.

Then shortly after my old band stopped gigging, I let that rig go in favor of a smaller, lighter, high quality rig...again, by a company that has since gone away. I bought an SWR Redhead and an SWR Triad. And then SWR got bought by Fender.

I still have the SWR rig. But I'm already conspiring to replace it with something lighter and smaller because I'm old.

There were Fender products along the way. Notably I had a PS400 into a Bassman 2x15 cab for a while. And I had a BXR Dual Bass 400 into those same two Hartkes. But neither they nor any of the 'had-it-for-a-month-and-sold-it-back' Bassmans were ever my main rig. So I didn't count them.

I have since gotten a Little Mark II into a Schroeder 1212L. I still have the SWR rig. But I'm not really gigging anymore. So I mostly use the little rig at home. Out of all the ones I mentioned in my previous post, the one I find myself missing most currently was the BXR Dual Bass 400 into the Hartkes.

I think I still own every amp I have ever had (but I'm thinking of selling some)

-Fender Rumble 15 (previous version. It came with the bass)
-Line6 Lowdown LD400 pro.
-Line6 Lowdown HD400
-Ashdown ABM575 EVO II (currently, my main rig)
-GK MBE212 (currently, my main rig)
-Ashdown AAA 12 Vintage (on its way to my house :P)

A curious thing is that, I already have the bass head that I love, but I sill look for other things...

Ashdown EB180-15 combo
Mesa/Boogie Bass 400+ with 4x10" diesel cab
Mesa/Boogie Basis M2000 with 4x12" powerhouse cab
Peavey Maxbass preamp / Crown XTI1000
Gallien Krueger 1001 RB2 same cab
GenzBenz Shuttle 6.0 same cab

I trully regret the Basis M2000, it was a bit old and dark but it was a very good piece of gear.

Homebrew old tube radio that had great tone but low volume. (this was about 1964)
'65 Silvertone 15" amp
'62 Fender Bassman 2/12's
'65 Fender Bassman 2/12's+2/15 extension cab (still have the head)
'88 Peavey TNT 150
'03 Ampeg BA100AV
'10 GK MB115 (still have)
'12 GK MB112II (still have)
'14 GK MB500 w/GK 410MBE (main current rig)
'15 GK Neo115 (alternates w/410)
And, a couple of guitar amps along the way.

Ampeg B-25B
Acoustic 150 with 2x15 Cab
Crate BXL160 Combo with Horizon 2x10 Cab
SWR Working Man's 4004 with Avatar 18' Cab (then acquired a Trace Elliot GPSM 7 300)
Peavey 2x10 Cab. Played 1 2x10 with SWR Head and other Peavey 2x10 with Trace Head or the 1x18" Cab
Tecamp Puma 500 with M212 Cab
Given a Bugera Veyron for Fathers day
Bought Tecamp L610 Cab
Now you'll see me with either Tecamp Cab with both heads in tow.

Peavey Microbass
