I see the remaining wood on both sides of the G string is the same therefore the stress concentration will be shared on both sides evenly so the risk of cracks is reduced.
If you like it, you like it and that's all that matters. If you did that to a vintage tele headstock, I'd say you were crazy. But it's a commodity neck and is easily replaced.
