A Tele shaped headstock is already too shy of wood. Taking more off might or might not do any harm, but I think I would have left all the wood on there I could. It looks OK.
I recently put a 51P bass Replacement neck on a jazz body and didn’t stop there. Don’t love the old Tele Style headstock so I grabbed a drill and a half round file and went to work. Took about an hour. Fairly close to a Sadowsky headstock. What do you think?
