Your Top 5 McCartney Bass Lines

The biggest Mac was definitely a major influence on me taking up bass but there a few Beatle songs that stand out more so, in that they are rarely covered by bands probably because of the vocals too are also exceptional for the rock market. My 5 are:

Dear Prudence
Rain
Don't Let me Down
Something
Helter Skelter

And, there are obviously more than that but.........

I would add "Two of Us" especially the bridge, which is exceptional...

The 2018 White Album release confirmed it's McCartney on bass. John played on an outtake and Paul re-recorded it afterward which he did a lot, most of these tunes people say were Lennon or Harrison were Paul overdubbing the bass after the basic tracks were done.

Probably never know for sure, but I always assumed it was Paul on bass because when he plays it live he plays it on bass. And he does play a lot of guitar during his live shows also. Thought that since he plays the bass live he probably did on the recording but most sources do claim it is Lennon.

I know they do but it's obvious it's McCartney, and it was corrected on the 2018 reissue of the White Album. Lennon was a horrible bass player. Listen to the Long and Winding Road, that's Lennon.
