Your Top Overdrives at Various Price Ranges

This could be a dumb question, but are BJFE pedals the same thing as the Mad Professor pedals that are "BJF" designs? If not where do I find information about BJFE pedals, and where do I buy them?

No, they aren't the same though I'm not sure why both exist. I originally thought Bjorn just handed off the designs to Mad Professor, but he seems a lot more involved than that. In any event, they are two different lines of pedals.

I believe there's a BJF forum somewhere, but I'm not really sure where would be the best place to get more info. As for ordering, I got mine through Invalid Link Removed.

When I called they actually had one in stock (a rarity) and Harri shipped it out to me. Otherwise I believe Bjorn builds them in very small batches based on demand.

Third page and only one prop for the Polish Love (OK, now it's two)?

And I agree on the Blueberry comments...that's a LOT of money for something that's available only as a gift. Every now and then, I kinda wonder if stuff like that is intentionally priced wacky in the hope that it becomes coveted ("...if it's that much, it must be friggin' AWESOME..."). No disrespect to/for Bjorn intended, but still...

If that were the case, I'd think you'd see a lot more love for the Bass Bully. ;)

As always, having a high price and being difficult to find raise the allure of any product, but the love the Blueberry gets is well earned. I'm not a gear snob - if there were a cheap pedal that sounds like the BJF I'd buy it, no doubt. But there isn't.

And just to be clear, the BBBOD isn't the end all be all. If you want a "cut-through-the-mix", mid heavy but not changing my tone type of overdrive, you'll probably hate it. But if you dig that tone (and I do) there's nothing else like it.

I was just about to edit to say that what I said doesn't change the fact that I'd love to have one. I was also using the BBOD simply as an example to illustrate my point, and to add that I seem to have spent too much time hanging out with the marketing folks...I look at a LOT of advertising, etc. with maybe a little more suspicion than necessary, although in my own defense I can say that I was right about M/$ Vista...
