Exactly--and in fact, all of the pedals I speak of positively in this forum are ones that sounded good through a nice clean DI/mixer channel.

Dirt has yet to sound right when recorded direct with the exception of amp modelling.

Can't guys just play some basic rocking 8-notes? That's what I'm gonna play 80% of the time anyway.

+1 Ok you can show off a bit but then get back to the basics so we can really hear how the pedal sounds. I also wish you boutique builders would have a demo of every single pedal you have with both bass and guitar as far as I know posting videos is free? and they reach millions I'm to the point now if i can't find a demo I pass on the pedal no matter how great people say it is.
