Yeah, he's OK.
He's from Detroit. His dad is a "stage dad" if you get my drift. Pushing him on to ANYBODY who will listen. Sad really.

I'd be sitting at Low Down Sound (or anyone for that matter, seen it happen a bunch of times) and they would walk in. His dad, and I'm NOT kidding< would darn near push the kid closer and closer to you and whisper in his ear to have him ask to play what ever bass you were.

At one point I had my Alleva Coppolo in there and I was checking out an amp, his dad did that same thing, and Brandon was "I've never seen one of those before...can I play it?!?!" (his dad told him to ask me).

I looked his "stage dad" in the face and told him how pitiful he was and how I would let him play it if he put $3K in my hand.

Brandon is a good kid. Period. And he can play a bit, but if you sat and listened to him and watched his face, you could tell it wasn't him that was behind it.

wow! Richard Bona is just an amazing bass player...and I just love Pat Metheny...IMO, his style lends itsself much better in his trio work than in the old Mahavishnu stuff...
