I was a big fan of the work they did together earlier a few years back.
Rocco is coming into his own. And I like his style!!

Saw them just two weeks ago! Rocco is really good and his effect board was interesting… two octave pedals cascading into each other - very cool sounds and a creative style of playing too! Yussef on this tour is definitely worth taking the time to go see.
I have to see if they are coming to St. Louis.
Is that a Yamaha BB Rocco is playing now? He was mostly using his Squier Jazz on the last project.

Always a treat seeing monster players who do expressive music lock in. I've also heard from friends that Yussef is a genuinely nice dude too.
Really liked the melodic playing from Rocco on that second track. Inspiring to hear his use of effects and transitions from melody to grooves. Thanks for sharing Doc.

Thanks, Doc! Man, they're just killin' it! I wound up watching a whole bunch of their other videos…then forwarded them to my (drummer) son…who'll probably forward them to all his drum students….
I'd never heard the name Yussef Dayes before—but I'm unlikely to forget him now; and he and Rocco are perfect for each other!

I had not thought of Paul Jackson, but he and Mike Clark had a similar connection.

Wow…Funny you mentioned Clark and Jackson: Exactly what I told my son that the two reminded me of, when I sent the videos to him!
Btw: It was Rocco's style of vibrato that reminded me of Jackson's; and, of course, he utilizes that palm muting style of the "later Pino period."
