Zon's are great. I would discribe the Zon tone as a "warmer contemporary" sound.
The list new $2,500-$4k. Used $1,200-2K.

I've played and/or owned quite a bit of high end gear, and they are the best I've come across for ME.
+1 for Zon
I have a Legacy Elite 6, that I use as my "attack" bass. Its tone is more focused and tight sounding than my Brubaker's deep growl. I love the sturdy neck and pheno-wood board, for that "modern" feel.

Man, I have been through $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ trying to find a bass that has both the sound and feel that I would be completey happy with.
Zon is the only bass that has done that for me to this point.

Also you can get some pretty good prices off ebay for them. I've seen several go for under a grand and if you're patient you can find both 4 and 5'vers. Mostly Sonus.
Anyway, I doubt you'd have any regrets with one!
IMO some of the finest instruments available today. Really never had any interest in a graphite neck. I played one and I bought it. Bart PUs and ZP-2D preamp. Lots of tone to pick from and the necks are very very playable. Would like another one some day!
