how are these basses? what are they like? how much are they?
Zon's are great. I would discribe the Zon tone as a "warmer contemporary" sound.
The list new $2,500-$4k. Used $1,200-2K.
Great. Great. Lots.
I've played and/or owned quite a bit of high end gear, and they are the best I've come across for ME.
...eh, you're from Baton Rouge, wadda YOU know...
Love my Zon... its my overall steady work bass. Sort of like a pickup truck!
+1 for Zon
I have a Legacy Elite 6, that I use as my "attack" bass. Its tone is more focused and tight sounding than my Brubaker's deep growl. I love the sturdy neck and pheno-wood board, for that "modern" feel.
Fretless Zons are the best on the planet....
i would love to have one though...i really like those legacy basses...i'd like a six string model
Man, I have been through $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ trying to find a bass that has both the sound and feel that I would be completey happy with.
Zon is the only bass that has done that for me to this point.
Here are some recordings I have done with my ZON
Hey Ricky.. The Zon I was referring to was YOUR old 519!! I love it man!
More than those bass players from Slidell!!
Hey now...James and I are gonna have whup you for that one!
.....not to mention, WHO told you to give Zon a try? Hmm???
See how them Baton Rouge bassists are, HE STOLE RICKR'S ZON!!!!
Double team the little guy, hey? You fight dirty sir!!
I can't recall the guys name.. Hmmmmmmmmmm... Used to work at one of those bass superstores...
I learned it by watching you!
I've played several and they are fabulous. Incredible flexibility and sustain just out of this world!
Also you can get some pretty good prices off ebay for them. I've seen several go for under a grand and if you're patient you can find both 4 and 5'vers. Mostly Sonus.
Anyway, I doubt you'd have any regrets with one!
IMO some of the finest instruments available today. Really never had any interest in a graphite neck. I played one and I bought it. Bart PUs and ZP-2D preamp. Lots of tone to pick from and the necks are very very playable. Would like another one some day!
I kick myself everyday for selling that bass!
Luckily I found a slammin replacement!
You found another 5, or have you been using the 4 for everything?
