zon?

In addition to all the other positives posted here, I'm totally blown away by the versatility of my 519! There are as many sounds in that single PUP, 2 band EQ bass as there were in anything I've ever played, including my 55-94s,

I used to take it as a backup bass, but anymore, it's my main player, because in addition to the light weight, sleek neck, and overall playability, it's sounded great in any venue I've played in, indoors or out! Every once in a while I find myself in a setting I can't get the 55-94s dialed into on the fly (same experience with my former Sadowsky). The Zon has never failed to deliver (my Modulus also excels at this).

I always thought that they were nice basses, but I didn't think that I would end up owning one. I mostly ply fretless 4's, and I own a Turner fretless 5, and I was playing a Am. Std. P for my main fretted. So exotic wasn't really what I was looking for. I played this bass while kicking tires at a local shop and thought it was great, but I wasn't going to drop that kind of cash. I was back a week later and walked out the door with it. Sonus 5 fretless, 34".

I swear it was haunting me. The only downside is that I don't play my other basses enough and think that I have to thin the herd a bit.

I give the bass really high marks on balance, construction, fit/finish, and playability. The tone is incredible, but distinctive. I don't find it sterile or dry or any of that. The bass does what I ask it to do. I've had two other basses with the Bartolini NTMB and wasn't crazy about it. It isn't a bad preamp, but I was thinking of something more like a Sadowsky preamp. In this bass I think it is an excellent fit. I'm actually starting to do more than run it with everything set flat! Amazing!

EDIT: The pics were done by Gguitars, where I bought it. I can't really do too much better. But I had THG make a set of ebony knobs for it so I have to shoot some soon. Roger did a fantastic job and they look a lot better than the stock plastic knobs.

Now that is a Sonus, buts its the most beautiful 6 string Sonus, extended cutaway I've ever seen, Aed that would cost me what??? :D

That's my TJ-6 signature model 6 string. Trust me that this bass plays even better than it looks......and it looks great....it has to.....I'm not much to look at, so things even out that way....."there's such balance in nature"!!! :D

Please don't quote me on this, but I believe the "retail" price on this bass.....as shown is about....$6500. This is the only one so far......so don't expect it to show up on ebay anytime soon!!! But, the good news is that Joe Zon will make you one. Rumor has it......and I have it on pretty good authority that we'll be premiering this bass at NAMM. (Lord willing) I'll be playing it at the Zon booth etc. :bassist: You can also go to my website and check out all the "specs" on this baby...

Cool !!!

Like others have said, the sustain is unsurpassed... it's TOTALLY amazing how even every note is.....the B string sound GREAT at the 26th fret for goodness sake!!! WOW!! Anyway.....this thing is just crystal clear and clean beyond anything I've EVER played. The balance is perfect.....the B string is SLAMMIN'!!! With the small frets it has, the action is set up ideally for me.....light touch and all.....it practically plays itself.......

I'm starting to get carried away......sorry friends!!! It's hard not to. God has blessed me far beyond what I deserve....but I'll gladly accept it!!! :hyper:

I would STRONGLY recommend that you contact Joe Zon and order the bass of your dreams today!!

Warm Regards,
