Zoom B2 Four library of user patches

Hi all,

I recently bought a Zoom B2 Four and the first thing I noticed was how bad the presets are. I am wondering if there is a place (forum or library) where people with this unit post their own presets, as I am not experienced enough to do really interesting patches. I could only find stuff for the B1 in Tonelib. Any ideas?

Welcome to the zoom b1 four patch ideas thread. much like the zoom b3 patch ideas and the digitech bp355 patch ideas threads, this thread will be about sharing patch ideas for the zoom b1 four. since I've looked up the effects list, I have been brain storming a few patch ideas for the zoom b1 four. I haven't own one yet so I'm not quite sure how the controls are different. but when I do buy one, I will edit some of these patches. okay as usual, I will post my personal patch ideas.

Metal bass

znr: detect: efxln, depth: 25, thesh: 20, decay: 10

Dualcomp: freq: 400hz, lo cmp: 25, hi cmp...

Ah, cool. I was not aware of that. The reason I haven't tried it yet is that it is only available for iOS and I don't have an iOS device at the moment. Will have to ask a friend or something. Thanks for the tip!

I have the regular Guitar Lab I am using for the Zoom R20 multitrack recorder because of the internal effects used are from the level of Zoom effects from the B1 Four, G1 Four, and G3N generation. The effects unit in the recorder is like the G3N in operation. I am running that one on a PC.

Then I have the older B1on and B1xon bass multi-effects pedal that I use the Tone Lib librarian that is a non-Zoom product to manage them. That one works with PCs and my old Android phone.

My kids put me on their phone plan and now I have an iPhone, but no pedal to benefit from it 😔

And that's the thing that raises my hackles about Zoom. They would release these pedals and talk about how these things going to be supported with new patches and how they can grow with you. Then they release a firmware update once or twice to fix something and move on to the new shiny object and abandon what came before, within months of the initial release. Clean cup move down!

I just looked at there site as I don't go over there much and it looks like they have multiple Guitar Lab editors for various pedals now. Must be each one uses a different ‘language’ that can't be handled by one editor. Plus it seems they are leaning into the iOS platform.

That's annoying. It does work with my B6, so I kinda expected it to work with all older models, not just a select few. And I thought the IOS move was only since the new + series and not for the older models. My bad.

As for Zoom's marketing talk, I agree. I never received any new patches from Zoom. Not for the B6 and not for my 60B+ either. Not that I mind terribly. I buy multi's 'as is', and don't want to rely on 'possible' updates that may or may not come. The few bugs they had, were fixed pretty quickly, which is my main concern. The only thing that annoys me is that they simply don't make good on what the marketing department promises.

All that said, I still think that what Zoom offers is quite good considering what you pay for them. Zoom just has a some quirks you need to get used to. And of course, you need to ignore their marketing talk.

It seems everything's going mobile these days, either with BT or USB-C. Good or bad, it seems to be what people want. Give it a few months and you'll be editing your next pedal from your phone along with the rest of us!

I wonder if there is (or could be) an independent user group or forum where people can share either single or sets of patches. I've made my own patches, but my needs and tinkering interests are pretty specific.

The internal patches all need EQ tweaks for people's tastes, needs, and amp systems.

But don't be afraid to get your hands dirty on this one. Interesting patches CAN (but not always) be made by just stringing together a bunch of nonsense and futzing with it until it works.

My 60B+ app has a patch pool, so it stores them somewhere. I haven't figured out where it's stored yet, but it's there, somewhere. So one should be able to share them if we can find them. We had similar issues with the B6, but eventually figured out how to share them using a local patch pool. Is there no such thing available on the B2Four app?

Slot 1. Low eq
Type: HPF
Freq: 90hz
Gain: 0
Vol: 80
This slot is off, only activated if too muddy.

Slot2: Dual Compressor
Freq: 1.5khz
Locomp: 15
Hicomp: 24
Vol: 75

Slot 3: Dark Overdrive
Gain: 60
Attack: Flat
Blend: 55
Vol: 70
Slot on only if drive needed

Slot 4: AMPGSVT
Bass: 0
Mid-Freq: 120hz
Mid: -9.0
Treble: 6.0
Gain: 100
Ultra: Both
Vol: 100
Blend: 100

Slot 5: Bass Graphic EQ
120hz: I use this freq band for cutting mud when practising, I bosst a little if recording.

I gotta admit I'm loving the pedal, I used to have a Boss GT-1B and it doesn't come anywhere close to this, some of the patches based on specific songs is quite a good thing, but I'm wondering if there's a third party website that has bass player specific sounds?

Thanks everyone. I have been manually importing some of the ones here: Zoom B1/B1X Four. Most can be recreated easily. Wish there was the equivalent site for the B2 Four.
