interesting, on the B2.1u B1 is SWR and B6 is Hartke. Wonder why the flipped them or is it a typo?

Zoom B2: What's your favorite amp sim to record with?

That is odd since checking on my B2 B6/16 is SWR. Ah, keeps everyone honest I guess. The SWR module sounds good at least.
I like the zoom tube pre with nothing else but a little mid scoop for most stuff. I just started using an expression pedal with it, not bad at all. That's just for home recording so far but I change my eq for live stuff.
Did you know you can use an expression pedal and external foot switch at the same time? They don't point that out in the manual. Use a splitter from the B2 "Control" to go Expression/Volume Pedal "in","out", then a foot switch into the "expression" jack. I used a Hosa FSC502 and modified it with a stereo cable and wired it normally open for tip and ring, then grounding both when stepped on.

I really like A5 too, when I first got my B2.1u I went through the patches and most of them were too thin for me but I really like A5.
I used A5 at practice the other night with a half-stack guitar player and Bonham III on drums and it made me smile - beautiful cut and nice, even grit when I dug in.

when refering to factory patches, you should really be refering to corresponding banks 0,1,2 & 3

I think the thin sounding patches were developed at high volume. The Fletcher Munson curves show why those patches sound middy at low volume. Try one of the thin sounding patches through a PA set at a gigging volume and maybe add the standard eq scoop most sound men put on the final mix.
I use a flat eq for my base clean patch and only add eq on effected patches to keep them in line with my base patch. Sounds middy in the bedroom unless I use my amps contour. But at gigs it helps it mix better.

I noticed the high end zooms have a tube in there. Has any one used a tube di like an ART V3 MP after the b2? Did it seem helpful? I think it has great tube emulation, but I wonder if it sounds digitally harsh through the PA. Most times I never get to hear the finished product from the stage.
True, but the manual makes reference to the user patches as presets, which is why they're referred to in this thread. Also, it's nice to make mods to user patches for each particular application as well, e.g. I've changed the eq settings in A5 a bit to fit my G&L Tribby's voice and copied it to A4 with tweaks to use with my Yamaha passive.
