Zoom B3 As Preamp Part 2

I use a Roadrunner gigbag that fits all my cables, B3, and bass etc. on my back. Both hands are free for whatever amp setup so I only require one trip. It fits very nicely in this gigbag and it's pretty solid for $50, I have the cheaper one too that's showing some pretty serious wear now but I used it for 3 years for everything with my heavy ATK bass. Fully loaded I'm guessing 18lbs for everything. Highly recommended, good backpack straps.

I make a video with pre/post functions of the XLR output with on/off pedal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEW3fqwiGQM

When we are in pre mode, the unit bypass the signal (true bypass),and even the mute mode on tuning doesn't work.
When we use the post we have mute on tuner.
I find a way to bypass the signal with the external on/off pedal when we are on post mode.We hit once the pedal, and after a second we must hit 2 times. Then the bypass mode(not true bypass) stays.:)

Hey, People!

Please! Heeelp me!

I once had problems with B3 about playing along with mp3 because the songs were always clipping. Then, u guys suggested it could be power supply issue. In deed. I got it powered by 9V and the bug got away.

But now it's been clipping when i try to record. It's annoying. It was working perfectly and from absolutely NOTHING it got clipping in the middle of rec sessions.

What can I do?

I've reinstalled the ASIO from Zoom's website.

Sorry for my eventual spelling mistakes.

Thank you very much

I will assume your recording connection is via USB.

Since connection to your particular USB port previously resulted in clipping, be sure you are also powering the B3 via 9V @ 500 mA and have the B3 power switch set to "ON" position (and not "OFF" where USB power is instead utilized.)

Should clipping still occur during recording, it is possible your internal B3 levels are simply too hot. In particular, under the GLOBAL menu, make sure the "USB AUDIO" levels are sensible (e.g. REC GAIN.)

Good luck or simply record via any of the B3's analog outs instead.

Cheers!

Mr. Charlie, what do you call a reasonable value to imput at Rec Gain and Monitor at UBS AUDIO in Global Settings?

The -3 dB REC GAIN is reasonable.

In order to diagnose further, Mr. Charlie will need all your patch setting values, including the GLOBAL and TOTAL levels, effect models and their levels ;)

Again, to avoid this altogether, you may want to just record via analog outs since you stated no clipping otherwise occurs.

Cheers!

Quite possibly, the most happy I've ever been with my rig.

This is, until v2.0 firmware is released for the B3!

Looks good Charlie. Tried my B3 with my Berg NV412 the other week just for the hell of it....not ideal without a tweeter.

Favourite bass specific cabs I have used the B3 with is the Eden 210xst x 2. One off each side of my QSC PLX1804 gives me 600w to each cab. Good sounding tweeters and heaps of low end. Stacked vertically is epic.
