Zoom B3 As Preamp Part 2

I still own two Pods X3 from Line6. But I am afraid I hardly use them anymore and I wish to sell them, since the B3 sounds have convinced me much more and got me actually hooked. So, yes, get a B3!

Since the crown is a power amp only, simply use the B3 in front of it, i.e. serial connection. But others who actually know this equipment much better than me, e.g. Charlie, can answer that perhaps better?

I could've sworn I had it on post but I guess it was on pre looking at it now. I had issues with an instrument cable during practice and was scrambling to diagnose and I guess I had it in pre when I swapped cables. A bit of an off morning with that and then not tuning again because of it not muting(not that it necessarily needed to be retuned but I usually like to check because the temperature of the sanctuary often changes between rehearsal and service). Thanks for the heads up though!

Those two little buttons are easily nudged in transit. I too found that out regarding the pr and post function :(

2. I have no cab on stage, and no floor monitor. Any specific base settings to the B3 you'd suggest right out of the box?

.

I am doing the same thing but don't even use a head so why would you? Especially if it is as transparent as some claim it to be. Also I find the tuner and mute function is fine so that is one less pedal. I use an Electo Harmonix Octive box into my B3 right to the snake. If I mis the band I use a Mackie DL1608 with a dedicated IEM channel. If I am using a true FOH setting I have a splitter snake as well.

Season's Greetings, Talkbass Faithful!

Zoom B3 still living large in my rig and hopes for a successor device in 2015!

Cheers!

Yep. My pedalboard, in it's entirety:

So a b3 can replace my mxr m80, as a preamp di?i can use a 1spot power supply with the b3?

One of the big deferences between them is that the color button on the B3 emulator of the DI+ is independent,on real one you can't disengage it will you are on dirt mode.Another think is that the drive of the emulator never go dead clean. You can clean the signal with the mix button ofc but i prefer total control of the gain .
