Zoom b3 patch Ideas

This is my rig.I use two 1200w each Yamaha DXR and my b3 as preamp.The speakers have a High Z input so even the B3 fails i can gig without it.Crystal clear sound and very loud.Versatile,easy to transport.

It decided me to make a new try with my PA system (Yamaha powered mixer and 2 12" yamaha full range cabs). I stacked the cabs vertically, as you, and whaoooww, the Zoom B3 or the VT Bass give an amazing tone.
I have to explain my singer that she has no longer amplification for her voice, but bass will sound great

Hi All.
I just got a b3. it came with some software in an LE trial version But no activation/serial number ?? Says it will run for 30 days then go to full version free. But it won't run without a code. This widow pops up asking for a serial number....
any ideas?
I've looked for this code in the oaperwork,cd sleeve, and box... don't see it anywhere....

I never used it. I tried to install it and it never worked. So I still use Reaper.

Before Yamaha speakers,i made some experiments with EV ZLX12 and ZLX15.The results is good,special with the 15",but back then i was use only one speaker at time.And always i felt that something missing,musically and visually.And i found that the height was the problem.When i stacked two of the Yamaha,except the big difference in power,the low one was making that huge sub bass carpet we need to support the song,and the upper one was give me the high freq definition to hear my self and cutting the mix.And visually is more close to a real rig,so we fill more traditional.
When i have the opportunity i will make some experiments with one Sub and one PA speaker stacked.

That's cool. I currently own a hartke hd150 and it's a great sounding bass combo. that's what I currently use for my live set-up.

Mine works,but i don't use it because i prefer the Ableton Live.If i remember well,there is no serial number.You need just installation of the license authentication software.I thing the program pop up after the main installation program begins.

Edit:I read the manual and the only think you may forget is to register the program.Then you receive a license number with mail from Steinberg.You can find the register function inside the LE.If i remember well the Steinberg ask for the serial number of your B3 to give you the license.

If that don't work(Unistall/install again),you must install the LE in another computer.Register there your software and just take the serial and placed to your main pc.

I did un/re install and this time I saw the TRY... button. So I clicked that and it works fine, not asking for registration number now.

Not sure what to do with it as I have never used any studio software.
I though this was for programming the patches so I wouldn't have to do it ON the B3....

I am new to programmable pedals... This is the rest of my pedal board... The SB1 Deep Impact is new, too.

I am glad that worked for you.But if you don't do the registration the program will stop working in one month.You must make a Steinberg account and get the serial number.The register menu is in the first one program button,left and the name is "User Registration".

Yeah, that Deep Impact pedal is outrageous! !!! More than just synth pedal. It does all kinds of fun stuff... I'm still playing around with it, too.

Νο,you don't need USB stick,this is a "Hasp" for the paying customers,not for us with the free version.Press the menu and follow the steps,it's easy .

The Deep Impact is awesome pedal,that's for sure.

Got it downloaded. got a few patches downloaded from the first few pages of this thread. I have not been able to import any.. wrong file format b3a vs. b3p ??
I saw something about converting from one to the other... I'll have to re read that post.

I mainly got this to play through when I can't use my rig... It's a bit loud even on "1" LOL ...

Anyway, time to hit the rack. I work swing shift, so...

Thanks...glad you like the retro growl patch. as for this song, I would assume this is like experimental. at 4:00 where the song starts, it sounds like a warm bass sound with some compression. try using a warm amp model like an acoustic model, scoop the mids a little, turn down the treble, and add a compressor model like the m comp or the 160 comp and see how this works out for you. I also noticed a whammy like effect that has the bass go down in the beginning of the song and in the middle. I would say that sound would require a pitch shifting effect with an expression pedal to emulate that bass whammy effect.

First up, a big thanks to crystalman85 and all that have contributed to this and other zoom b3/ms60b/b1on threads.

The zoom b3 is a killer little multi effects box with seriously good bang for buck. its certainly not without flaws but I highly recommend it to anyone considering the purchase.

I thought I'd share some stuff I found that may be of interest.

The b3 has an expression pedal input that can instead be used to plug in a simple switch box(fs01 or similar)
You can assign it to tap tempo (could be useful but I don't use it much) It can be assigned to activate the tuner and mute immediately which is quite useful.

You can also assign it to "hold" a few of the delay pedals (will loop one delay cycle infinitely) which initially didn't seem useful but if you use the 'reverse delay' effect you can get a sweet pad like sound, kinda like the EHX freeze pedal. With a healthy amount of "mix" on the delay and good timing you can get a swirling pad sound that you can solo or jam over. Hours of fun but also great for filling dead space before a set or in between tracks.

each patch of 3 pedals can have a different switch assignment. My main tone utilises the tuner/mute assignment and another patch uses the delay hold function.

will prob post a full review at some point, lots of things to mention.

My thanks also to Crystalman85 and CharlieC, and all who have contributed about the Zoom B3. It was all your information that led me to get one last year, and I've been really pleased.

Today I came by looking for some thread for troubleshooting my B3, as I'm having an issue where the tuner isn't working anymore. The instructions say that a one second press of switch 2 will get you the tuner, and a 2 second press will get you muting. I used to be able to get the tuner, but now a short press, just long enough to not be switching off/on Effect 2 but to engage the tuner, only completely mutes my sound and there's nothing registering with the tuner.

Any advice appreciated, and thanks again to everybody for their info.

The sub may be a good idea if you're not already plugged in one via the Pa. Otherwise it may be too much.
I'm really thinking those powered speakers may be a very interesting rig. I just don't know how their wattage compare to those of regular bass rig, as speakers don't have the same efficiency.
